Fall Garden Planting

Did you know that fall planting of vegetables, shrubs and perennials is low stress on the plants? Early August is the best time to plant vegetables for fall harvest, while September is a great time to plant trees, shrubs, and perennials including dividing some.

Ken’s Gardens has beets, kohlrabi, broccolini, celery, several kinds of cauliflower and broccoli which all get “winter sweet”. We also have pak choi which does the best with fall planting as well as several types of cabbage. We always have the greens you need at Ken’s too: Swiss chard, spinach, collards, kale and lettuce.

Frost is being delayed each year, so take advantage of these premiere growing conditions and extend your garden season.
